Founders: Ferris and Danny are life long friends and this is not the first time they've teamed up to together. From the old Blazers days to the devestating flood, they have always shared a passion for this area and tried to bring a positive influence to it. Ferris has been a business man in the area since taking over the family business of "Maloofs on the Corner" in downtown Copperhill. Ferris' parents were early partners with the community in helping establish the city in the very beginning. His family name is always associated with honor, professionalism and family values. Danny grew up in McCaysville / Copperhill area where his Mom still lives in the house where he was born. He worked at the bank in Copperhill after graduating from West Fannin and soon moved on to United Artists Records in Atlanta. Soon after that, he went to work for Warner Brothers where he remained for 29 years until he retired in 1999. He lives in Marietta, Ga. now. During his career in the major music business he helped create some of the industries biggest stars and was given the chance to try to create an artist from scratch. His efforts resulted in creating the career of Travis Tritt. They were partners for over a decade. He also worked with such acts as Rod Stewart, Madonna, Fleetwood Mac, Hank Jr. and litterally, too many to list. Also during this time period Danny and Ferris put together the Flood Aid Concert with Charlie Daniels, Travis and Mark Collie among others and tried to help the community deal with the devastating results of the flood. In a statement for the community, they both agree ... "We are doing this because we love the community and the memories we share from the History of both the old Canteen and the Basin area which includes McCaysville, Copperhill, Ducktown and Blue Ridge". "We hope to add to the make up of the potential the area has to offer and to help overcome the loss of the major source of employment for the area which was the Tennessee Copper Company or later known as The Cities Service Company. "We will do our best to join forces with the areas communities and hopefully become a contributing factor in helping to reach the potential of this wonderful area and establish it as one of the valuable destinations for all travelers, vacationers and those who seek entertainment and any number of events located in the Tennessee / North Georgia mountains."
